What are Family Resource
Centers? The Family Resource Center (FRC) is part
of the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990. The
FRC's main goal is to help remove barriers that prevent
children from learning. The FRC also assist families
with the "hurdles" of our society. These hurdles may
deal with violence, joblessness, incarceration of a family
member, health issues, lack of needed school supplies,
clothing or any situation that would affect a student's
performance in school. What services are provided or referred? **On-site health clinic/school health nurse **Support groups for families **Self-esteem programs **In-house counseling services **Programs for new & expectant parents **Support & training for child-care providers **Licensed child car center **Before/After school programs **Information about child care subsidy program **Referrals for GED **Monthly family meetings **Summer Day Camp **Snack & summer feeding program **Referral/Information regarding Medicaid/K-Chip |
